Brian Scriver
Chair of the Board of Directors

An advocate for gay youth issues, Brian has carried a visible public presence in Niagara's Sexual and Gender-Diverse Community since his high school days. Founding the Gay, Lesbian Alliance with Straight Students (GLASS) at Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School was the beginning of Brian's quest for equality. That quest has lead him to the role or President of Brock Pride, where he championed the fight for unisex bathrooms and developed their newest constitution.

As Director and formerly Treasurer of Niagara Pride Support Services, Inc., Brian was on the forefront of activities which included Governance and Finance work, as well as his most recent work chairing the 3rd annual Queer Youth Conference in Niagara.

More recently, Brian was a member of the original "Pride Network of Niagara Steering Committee", which built the foundations for OUTniagara.

Brian has also served as Co-host of OUTspoken, a popular radio program for Niagara's sexual- and gender-diverse community, on CFBU, Brock Radio.  He started on the program in September of 2005, and has recently announced that he will sign off for the last time at the end of January 2007.

Brian was elected Chair at the Annual General Meeting in May of 2007.  Brian will continue as Chair of OUTniagara until the Annual General Meeting in 2009.
